You can find everything and anything you want in terms of trims, fabric, elastic, buttons and ribbons. Every colour you can imagine is available here.
Nam Cheong and Yu Chau street are great places to start for trims, feathers, rhinestones, buttons and snaps. For fabric stores, the streets go on for what seems like blocks and blocks. You can take the fabric swatch cards from the stores and sometimes swatches from the roll. Most stores only deal with retail, but other shops also take wholesale orders.
I brought back an extra suitcase worth of fabric, trims and supplies for the Love At First Blush line.

Hey!! I am a new follower! and I am really in love with your blog! I love this post! And I just wanted to ask, if it is hard to speak with the people? I speak english ok. I would love to go to hong kong to buy fabric! But I am scared that I will have a lot of problems with the language! )) thank you!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for following! In Hong Kong they speak English and Chinese, so you shouldn't have trouble conversing with them.
ReplyDeleteYou should really check it out, there's so many stores and shops!
Hi,
ReplyDeleteamazing blog.
i've been told that sham shui po deals only with wholesale - but i need to get fabrics for samples right now - can i buy several meters only?
thank you
Aliya
Hi Aliya,
ReplyDeleteSham Shui Po has tons of shops, most of them are wholesale but some deal with the public. You can find some stores with low minimums for fabric yardage. Definitely look around though and bring a map! You might get lost!

ReplyDeleteHi:
ReplyDeleteIs this area where I will find 6 yards of chiffon or georgette for INDIAN sarees (45 inches wide)?
Genie
Hi Genie,
ReplyDeleteI saw some stores carrying solid chiffon fabrics. You will have to check with each store as they may have different minimums you need to meet.
Sabrina
Hi Sabrina ..... How does one se up a wholesale account with the stores direct? Do you just take your ABN.? Many thanks in advance
ReplyDeleteAlso would you advise getting guide to take you around the stores. ? Also if I was looking at setting. Up a store in Tassie how long would you plan to stay in HK. Thanks jenny
Hi Jenny,
DeleteIf you meet the minimums you can buy it wholesale. I don't think you even need your ABN, but I would bring it just in case. I didn't need a guide, but definitely get a map. You'll probably need at least 3-5 days or more. There's just so much to do and see!
Have a great time.
Sabrina
