Craft Show

November flew by too quickly for me to write up a blog post. I just wrapped up a quick trip out west to Vancouver for the Make It! Craft show. It was our first time planning and setting up for a large 10 x 5 feet booth and it wasn't as daunting as I had imagined it to be.

I kept everything quite minimal and simple so it would be an easy set up and take down, with a black and white theme to match our branding. We also got access to electricity so I used this to our advantage, adding some vintage looking globe lights to make it look romantic, like an outside patio or garden dripping with lights.

It was nice to be back in Vancouver for a few days, you Vancouverites are so chill and sweet. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table for the 4 days we were there. The other side of my job that I love, (besides designing and creating), is meeting and talking to all of the people that support local crafters and Canadian makers. You are the kindest and sweetest people that I have ever had a chance to meet and it makes my job so much more fulfilling, and the reason why I love to do these shows.

xoxo,
Sabrina

The One of a Kind Spring 2014 show wrapped up last week and I'm still reeling from the excitement of meeting all you lovely folks and the media coverage from Breakfast Television and CanadaAM. I've never worked so hard for many months for just five days of a show, but I learned so much about designing my own booth display, lighting products, hammering nails, and hanging picture frames straight! I had an awesome assistant helping out with set up and take down, as well as someone who built my display. Thank you, you two ;).

I've come back with a lot of feedback and more ideas brewing in my head of what my next collection will be. I loved being everyone's personal stylist for those 5 days, helping choose what looks best on you. I wish I could do that every day.

Thank you for making it the best show yet!

Happy Holidays

This past month has been a whirlwind of Craft Shows, three weekends in a row! Somehow I managed to survive traveling back and forth from Montreal to Toronto, trying to restock supplies week after week and handling online orders.

Last year, our holidays were spent on a plane traveling from several cities; Vancouver, Singapore and Arizona. This year, it's nice to take a a little breather to regroup and focus.

I hope everyone is having an amazing holiday!

Souk @ Sat

Last weekend I participated in the Souk@Sat, a highly curated Trunk Show event in Montreal. It was extremely busy for the whole weekend with Friday and Saturday being the busiest days. People were lined outside the door in the morning just waiting to come in. I shared my table with Mariane Fabrique, who makes beautiful silver geometric jewelry with subtle pops of colour.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by my booth.

Ladyfest Tarts 'n Craft

I love the hustle of Craft Shows.

Last weekend, I roadtripped bused down to Ottawa for the Ladyfest Tarts 'n Craft show. I really should have taken more photos of my booth but I was too exhausted from my bus ride, having to get up at 5:30am to catch it.

I met some very nice vendors and customers at the show. My neighbor, Vanessa Neily,  makes beautiful copper enamel jewelry, resembling Ukrainian Egg Art called Pysanky.

I've also been eye-ing a few rings at Missy Industry's booth. Melissa makes sterling silver rings and necklaces from skulls and crosses. She bought one of my Fingerless Butterfly Gloves which I just had to take a picture of.

Since I normally work online and through email, it was definitely a nice change to meet my customers face to face.

Puces POP DIY and Craft Fair: Prep Work

Next weekend, Love at First Blush will be doing our very first Craft show at the 6th Annual Puces POP DIY and Craft Fair.

I've been prepping for the show, building inventory, purchasing extra business cards and shipping large boxes of bags and jewelry boxes to my studio. We will be showcasing some new pieces from our Fall collection. Come stop by and say hi!
