Day of the Dead: Día de los Muertos

If anyone can capture the beauty of death, it's Canadian fashion photographer, Lucyna DanUta Bakowska. Yes, she's Canadian and she's talented.

There's something strangely eery, yet entrancing about these photos. I don't know what she does with her camera or what kind of rabbit she pulls out of her hat, but these photos have me spellbound.

Painting with Light

This year, one of my resolutions is to take a photography class. Since I recently inherited a Digital SLR camera, I thought this would be a good chance to take a class and improve my shop photos on Etsy.

A little tidbit I learned yesterday: The word photography means "painting with light" in Greek. How simply beautiful.

I thought these photos from Lucyna DanUta Bakowska were fitting for this post. I love the saturation of colour, the play of light in the foreground and the matching electric makeup. You can see more of her work here.

What I love about Lucyna DanUta Bakowska's work, is the way she beautifully captures her photos with such vivid colour and light. The series "Where Time Stands Still" paints a whimsical storyline of fantasy, magic and whimsy. Not only is she super talented, she is also Canadian. That's a double bonus in my books!
